RWYATT's Blog #2 on "The Worth of a Date"
Speaking from a guy's point of view I would have to put the blame more on women for viewing a potential relationship partner as a commodity. Women expect a certain amount of luxury and treatment going into any kind of dating atmoshere and men have to keep up. The start of this essay with the 'Anna Nicole' situation is really the only place where men have control. The large wallet, as the author puts it, is the controlling factor for a man. Up until value in that sense is gained, women have control or a higher stake in the relationship process. There are exceptions, especially in the case of the stereotypical 'young love' but as the biological clock ticks men are branded with a dollar sign at first sight.

Ryan, I fully agree with you when you say that the majority of the blame should be put on women for viewing the man as a commodity. True the woman is good looking, sexy, and makes the man look better, and that makes her a commodity in a sense, but women also look for a good looking man to make them look better. So really a women's view is more the commodity view. Quick question, why do women feel that they should be treated equal? I completely feel they are not equal, but they insist they are. Your thoughts on this please.
